What is this course about?
This intensive Yoga Alliance Certification in Hatha Vinyasa Yoga and Ayurveda Therapy is designed for maximum effectiveness. Our experienced, very well-informed instructors know first-hand what distinguishes the exceptional yoga teacher from the mediocre one. They also practice what they preach, meaning that your experience will model teaching strategies that are effective as well as comprehensive.
Some yoga instruction courses masquerade as enhanced yoga practice. Not this course! On the second class meeting you will begin to teach!
Why is this yoga teacher training course different from the others?
We agree with the old saying, “size does make a difference”—group size, that is! We limit our course to 10 participants which creates the opportunity for one-on-one attention. Learning to become a professional yoga instructor requires practice. But practice without feedback is really a waste of time and energy.
Our small group format will provide maximum teaching experiences. You will instruct your “instructors,” your group-mates, and even “walk-ins” to the studio. This variation of yoga practitioners—from beginners to highly experienced practitioners—models the ‘real world’ of yoga instruction.
Whose philosophy of instruction does this training use?
To our way of thinking, all yoga is good.
Just as Krishnamacharya taught his many students—Pattabhi Jois, BKS Iyengar, Indra Devi, and T.K.V. Desikachar—that differing styles simply address the difference, or uniqueness, of individuals. We, too, believe that exceptional yoga instructors understand the value of choosing what style of yoga practice best suits their clients.
As a professional yoga instructor, you will learn how to make yoga not only appealing, but beneficial to everyone who desires it—whether in group or private settings.
How do I know if this is the right course for me?
The instructors for this course are experts in many areas, and, therefore, their perspectives on teaching yoga embrace fitness, Ayurveda, and spirituality. Take a look at their Bios (Tim’s and Sylvie’s) for more details about their areas of expertise. You also might take a look at some of the Testimonials of past student/participants.
What is the cost?/How do I apply?
Submit the teacher training application along with a $500 deposit. There are no refunds on deposits once your application is approved (no exceptions), and the remainder of the tuition (total tuition cost is $2,340) is due two weeks prior to the training start date. All payments are non-refundable, but, if we cancel the course, you will receive a full refund.
